Vincent-Marie is mostly famous for having contributed to Zazi's success. He began his career as a keyboard player for Sapho, and Hector Zazou. But very soon, after getting his diploma in electro-acoustics, he close to devote himself to production and composition. His influences (rock, electro and contemporary music) and his attraction for dreamy sounds give his compositions this very special touch. Vincent-Marie builds his songs in his studio, on a guitar or bass, to absorb the world of the artists he's working with. But what he likes above all is to make people curious to (re)discorver talents
“I select my tools very carefully, and work at home on my Protools HD. I also like to program and to sample on MPC 4000 or with the Emulator III. I avoid to use factory sounds, and prefer to work on my favorite keyboards (Nordlead, Jupiter 8, Waldorf, Kurzweil…) and my magic boxes (TR 7007, TR727, DR202…). What I also like to di is to mix original grooves with the various clocks of each of these machines. Besides, my studies in electroacoustics make me always search for " juicy sound ". This is why I have a large collection of pedals, from the cheapest to the more sophisticated. The studio has also lots of different microphones ( Neumann, Sony, AKG and Electro Voice) wich are preamplified by Neve or Focurite (Isa or API) modules. I also like to work with turn tables which I use as sound generators."
