This Montréal producer from Montréal has had multiple rewarding and successful collaborations with influential artists from both sides of the Atlantic. His musical palette has expanded over the course of meeting, most notably, Patrick Watson, Lhasa, Arthur H, Pierre Lapointe, Alexandre Désilets and Bran Van 3000. Album after Album he has demonstrated his capacity to successfully complete ambitious projects which have proved to be referential.
His technical recording method is sometimes rigorous and geometric, where his past as a physician-mathematician comes to the surface, but this physiological approach can also be perceived as intuitive. He is known and appreciated for the quality of his mixes, which offer a three-dimensional aspect.
 

At the same time as being a sound engineer, producer and instrumentalist, Jean has always composed a variety of music generally centred on very melodic themes.

In addition to his commissioned compositions on the albums that he has produced, he has to his credit music on many European and Quebecois film soundtracks, TV films and video games

Founded in 1998 with the artistic director, editor and producer Denis Wolff, the studio is situated in the heart of Montréal's Mile End, the favourite district of many groups and musicians.At 250m2 it contains a large room, which is ideal for capturing the sounds of anything from a rock group to a string ensemble and anything in between.The control room  which facilitates the communication and focus, is at the heart of this space. The grand piano, which has been painstakingly kept for nearly 100 years, along with many keyboards and guitars and other equipment around the desk, rely on Pro-Tools HD and a tape recorder.
